BARON! SPELLBOOK!

Hello all!

I was at the Zugzwang's Tower getting my last Technic Page I became a Baron! Shortly after, I got my third Technic Page!
This means that I have accomplished my mission, that is to acquire all the items for Spellbook Base before reaching Baron!

Now, I am adapting myself with the new area, the Sandtail Desert. Its methods are complicated, and I have to learn them before my cheese and charms become wasted.

www.mousehuntgame.com
I received the title of Baron/Baroness! I can now hunt at the Fiery Warpath. I can now combine ten items while crafting. I can now charge my Tower Amplifier to 160% when hunting in the Seasonal Garden

3:30 am - Zugzwang's Tower
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 9 oz. Technic King Mouse worth 80,730 points and 10,470 gold.

The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Technic Cheese Mould and 1 Torn Technic Page

Three Mystic Pages!

Hi all!

Today I will be sharing with you my success of obtaining the third Mystic Page. This run was the easiest Mystic run I had ever experienced in the tower.
In my next easiest Mystic, I managed to catch the mystic king at 50%. However, with this new trap the Blackstone Pass Trap, I didn't even catch any Technic Pawn till I reached the Rooks! At the end, I managed to finish the run at 62% amplifier! This will not only be recorded as my new achievement, but it will also help me to easily achieve my goal of having all the items for the Spellbook Base before I reach the Baron rank.
With this success, I am now at the Seasonal Garden, catching winter mice to help me gain my 150% amplifier to have my Technic run.
I hoe that I can successfully complete this Technic run, that is to successfully catch the Technic King Mouse dropping the Torn Technic Page, that is my last key ingredient for the Spellbook Base.
Here is the look of the Mystic King that I caught:

8:20 pm - Zugzwang's Tower
I sounded the Hunter's Horn and was successful in the hunt! I caught a 10 oz. Mystic King Mouse worth 98,670 points and 8,560 gold.

The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Mystic Curd and 1 Torn Mystic Page

Third Zugzwangs Tower Mystic Run - Success or Failure?

Hi all!

Today I will be sharing with you my third Mystic run in the Zugzwang's Tower.

I have managed to catch my Mystic King at 22%, a few percent higher than the Technic King (caught at 8%). So, is this a success? Partially no. This is because it did not drop the Torn Mystic Page! The Torn Mystic Page is a very important loot that will help me to craft my Spellbook Base. A hunter needs 3 Torn Mystic Pages and 3 Torn Technic Pages, and a Master's Bindings (loot of Chessmaster) to craft it. I currently have 2 Mystic torn Pages, 2 Technic Torn Pages and a Master's Bindings. With 7 percent more to advance to my next rank - Baron, how am I going to accomplish my goal of crafting my Spellbook Base before advancing to the next rank? Now I am stuck at mystic again...

However, this run is also considered a success. Although my Mystic King did not drop the Torn Mystic Page, it dropped the Mystic Crystal! This Mystic Crystal is needed to craft the Blackstone Pass Trap, that is very effective when conquering the Mystic side. This mean that i can more easily catch the Mystic side when I return to the tower! At least I still have some hope of accomplishing my goal :P
Moreover, with the Blackstone Pass Trap, I have a higher advantage of completing a double run (completing both the Mystic and Technic sides within the same amplifier). This is a very tough feat that is done by a few hunters. If I can do that, then i can surely get my Spellbook Base before Baron!

I look forward to my next run at the tower, to find out really how good the Blackstone Pass Trap is.

Easter~

Hi all!

There is an event taking place in MouseHunt now, and that is Easter! Here is what is said about the event:

"To celebrate the arrival of spring, the King has constructed a new chocolate factory south of the castle to produce thousands of scrumptious chocolate eggs for hunters to munch upon! It was not long, however, until a villainous mouse known as Hare Razor picked up the milk-chocolatey scent and took over the factory to carry out his own devious plan.

What is Hare Razor's plan? To use our confectionary eggs as a means to smuggle precious hunting gear out and away from Gnawnia to leave hunters inadequately supplied to hunt mice! Hare Razor has recruited Eggsplosive Scientists, Egg Painters and Coco Commanders to help create chocolate eggs with an almost unbreakable candy shell. Hunting items and equipment from across the Kingdom have been stolen and locked away in these unbreakable eggs to prevent hunters from being able to use them for hunting mice.

The King needs you to find 10 of these hidden eggs and then travel to the Chocolate Factory to find a way to smash them open."

Well, all is said in the event introduction above - a hunter needs to find 5 eggs, that are located all across the world of MouseHunt, 4 eggs found in other hunters' profile, and one gift egg, only to be sent to other as a gift. Upon gathering all these eggs, the hunter is then granted access to the event area known as the Chocolate Factory.

In the chocolate factory, the hunter has to catch 3 mice: the Coco Commander, Eggsplosive Scientist and Egg Painter mice. These three mice drops a loot called the Marshmallow Monterey, that attracts Hare Razor.

Upon catching Hare Razor, the hunter will acquire the dropped loot called the Rocket Rabbit Mallet, that smashes the eggs collected. In the ten eggs, there will be 55 SuperBrie+, 10 Ultimate Luck Charms, 3 Ultimate Power Charms, and some other miscellaneous items like simple and flawless orbs.

This event has brought me many advantages, but ONE disadvantage, that is the drop of simple orb prices. Because simple orbs are found in vast amounts inside eggs, their price dropped in the marketplace. I had a collection of simple orbs, and intended to sell it after the event. Who knows, the price dropped just as I wanted to sell it! This caused me much frustration as I will have to wait for the price to peak again before selling them.

After smashing all the 10 eggs, a dozen other eggs like dragon eggs are unlocked. A hunter can acquire them by catching the mice related to them (Dragon mice drops dragon eggs). Inside these eggs are loots that will help in a hunter's hunting journey (the loot depends on the type of egg smashed).

After all, I had quite a fun time at the event. The event is scheduled to end at the 10th of May.

Second Mystic King, Chess Master!

Hi all!
Well, the title have stated everything, I had managed to successfully completed my forth mystic run, and moreover, caught my Chess Master mouse!

The mystic side of the Zugzwang's tower is harder than the technic side, with the points of the technic queen almost similar to that of a mystic rook. Usually, people are able to complete the technic run very quickly, as it is not very tough. However, once a hunter tries to tackle the mystic side, he/she must be prepared to fail much, much more times that when conquering the techinc side. Normally, a hunter would left 40% to 50% of amplifier left before catching the Mystic King. However, I was lucky enough to have 60% after I caught my Mystic King. This encouraged me to move on with attempting to catch the Chess Master.

Having fourteen Checkmate cheese on hand, I was quite confident in getting a Chess Master Mouse. However, after my cheese was stolen several times by technic knights, I began to feel a little less confident about my potential catch. Who knows? At 9.30pm, when I checked my trap, I realised I caught a Chess Master Mouse! This was the second major achievement in two weeks. A week ago, I celebrated after catching my first Silth Mouse, unlocking my chance to get the Sandtail Call to Arms (the Baron map piece). Shortly after, I can now begin crafting my spellbook base!

I hope my luck would not run out so soon, as I would still need them to catch my last Technic and Mystic Kings.

This was my Chess Master Mouse.
9:30 pm - Zugzwang's Tower
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse!
I caught a 5 oz. Chess Master worth 119,600 points and 19,000 gold.
The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 Master Bindings

Silth! At Last!

Hi Readers!

Today, I caught a Silth Mouse!
The Silth Mouse is one of the hardest mouse to attract. Since Mousehunt's second birthday in March 2009, the Chrome Nannybot was introduced into the game. In order to be the first few to get that trap, one has to catch all three new mice: The Dojo Sensei, the Big Bad Borroughs, and the Silth. The former was tough, so was the Big Bad Borroughs. However, what bothered the hunters the most is the Silth mouse. To catch the Silth during the birthday event was like a needle in a haystack.
One year has passed, and the number of people who caught the Silth still has not increase significantly. This is because of the extreme difficulty to attract that rare mouse and the little chance to catch it when it attracts your bait. Till today, statistics show that the number of people catching the Silth is around 35 Thousand. That is like one in five hundred.
I am very joyful after catching this magnificent mouse, as it takes luck, not skill to catch it. People around the world have used the same trap, same base and same charm as me, but many of them failed to catch this monster with about 300 cheese. I was very lucky to have caught it within 100 cheese!
Now that I have the Silth Mouse, I can now return to Seasonal Garden to get my next map piece, the Sandtail Call to Arms.

The Zugzwang Tower: Success!

Hi Readers!

Yes! After my second trip to the Zugzwang's Tower, I finally managed to successfully capture the Technic King Mouse! It is a good reward for me as I almost wanted to give up on the whole thing. Thankfully, when I was left with 8% amplifier, I managed to catch the King. There was once when I had 17 consequently red-boxes, white-boxes and FTAs. I wanted to surrender then, but my friend kept me going. Without him, it may still take me a long while before I can acquire the King.
Now, all I am left to catch is the Mystic King, and after which would be the Chess Master. Now, the heart of the Rabbit - a valentines and CNY celebration event - has come to town, so I would resume my hunt when it is over.

MouseHunt Mini Snack 1!

Hi everyone!

It is time for a MouseHunt Mini Snack! Here are some simple facts of MouseHunt.

1. The description of Scrap Metal is: These jagged shards of scrap metal resemble the result of a Steel Mouse versus a Digby DrillBot. During the early stages of MouseHunt, if one attempts to use a Digby DrillBot to catch a Steel Mouse, no matter how man times they try, they would not get Scrap Metal. In the forums, Hunters suggested that the developers should change the description or make the description come to reality. After much consideration, the developers decided to please the Hunters, and therefore, after MouseHunt's birthday celebration in 2010, there was a 10% chance of getting a Scrap Metal if you use a Digby DrillBot/Chrome DrillBot against a steel mouse.

2. When a Hunter catches a Dragon Mouse, he/she would get a confirm chance of obtaining a Dragon Chest, containing items for collection, trap components, cheese, crafting items, and so on. The rarest item tat could be found in a Dragon's Chest would be the Heat Bath Blueprints. The Heat Bath is a very powerful Aquatic trap. Its Blueprints could only be found in the Dragon's Chest. Yet, it would only appear an average of once in every 7-8 Dragon's Chest. Looking at the difficulty level to catch the Dragon Mouse, it would obviously not be Chicken Feet to get one Blueprints. In the forums, Hunters have expressed their dislikes over this fact time and time again, but what are the developer's response?
"If you want the trap, you would have to go through the challenges to get it. If not, you can choose not to have it. After all, it is not a Limited Edition trap, and Hunters can attempt to have the Blueprints when they have advanced in ranks.

That is for now. Remember to Stay Tuned for the next MouseHunt Mini Snack!

Second Attempt: The Zugzwang's Tower

Hello All!

Today, I am going to tell you about my second attempt in conquering the Zugzwang's Tower. Like I said in my previous post, the Zugzwang's Tower it one of the hardest ever place a hunter has to conquer. During the stay in the tower, hunter will lose their Tower Amplifier upon catching a mouse of failing to attract a mouse. Failing to catch a mouse won't result in the drop of one's tower amplifier. The hard part is that as the harder mice are released, your amplifier drops, thus harder and harder to catch each mouse.

During the last hunt, I wasn't prepared due to the fact that I did not craft my Zugzwang's First Move, which has a vital role to play in conquering the tower. Now, however, I spent a whole 1.03 million gold on crafting what seems to be the strongest tactical trap in the game. Lets put this trap to the ultimate test.

Wish me luck as I advance in the Zugzwang's Tower. You can even share a Luck Charm with me! It would be after my success or failure (2 days) that I will blog again.

Zugzwang Tower Failed Attempt

Hi all!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!!!
It has been a while since I have updated this blog. Anyhow, I would like to share with you on my attempt to conquer the Zugzwang Tower. When I had finally decided to travel to the Zugzuang Tower, I realised something: I had not crafted my Zugzuang's First Move! The ZFM plays a very important part in conquering the tower, and if you do not have it, chances that you would conquer it would be slim. However, during my first few hunts, since I used the pawn pinchers and the new limited edition trap Rewers Riposte, the journey was smooth. However, when I reached the technic and Mystic Rooks, the tables were turned. I could not even catch one of the Rooks! That made me mad, but there was nothing I could do, but to keep trying till my amplifier becomes weak. I tried my luck every time, but to no avail. In the end, I left the tower with an amplifier of 40% without catching any Rooks. What I have gone wrong during this trip to the tower is that I wasn't well prepared. Instead of knowing that I would have a confirmed chance pf catching a mouse, I kept pushing my luck. Next time, I would make a trip to the tower again, but this time, well prepared.

Conquering the King's Gauntlet

Hi readers!

Today, I am going to tell you all about the hard work I have put in to successfully conquer the King's Gauntlet.

As you see, the King's Gauntlet is a map where you have to go up eight tiers(floors) to catch the Eclipse Mouse. Unlike Furoma, hunters need not travel to the next tier, and all they need to do it to arm the cheese that is used to attract mice on that tier to move to that particular tier. For each floor, mice drop potions which can convert ordinary cheese into tier cheese used for catching the mice on the next tier(for example, if you catch a tier 1 mouse, it may drop a tier 2 potion, and you can use it t make tier 2 cheese).

Going up eight tiers is no easy task. Although catching the mice here is as easy as ABC, as you advance tier by tier, the percentage of potions dropped by the mice drops. In tier one, you may get three tier 2 potions out of ten hunts, but only one tier 3 out of ten hunts in tier two. That is the most irritating part of the King's Gauntlet.

Hunters usually give up between tier 5 to 7, where the percentage of potions being dropped is very little. I was one of them too. During my first attempt, I dropped out when I ran out of tier 5 cheese. I was even closer to getting the Eclipse Mouse when I did not get any tier 8 potions in tier 7.

However, on my third and final attempt, thanks to Ronza's Ultimate Luck Charm, which adds a fascinating 20 luck on my trap, I successfully caught a Fiend Mouse with a tier 8 potion. After which, the Eclipse Mouse is just chicken feat.

The reward of the Eclipse Mouse is just amazing! A wholesome lot of 300,000 gold and 379,000 points, the points it gave is about three times the points given by the second "most number of points mouse" and the same goes for its gold.

Have a look at this!

I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse!
I caught an 5 oz. Eclipse Mouse worth 379,000 points and 300,000 gold.

Ronza is Here!

Hi all,

Its a whole new beginning of 2011 with a whole new exciting features!
At the start of 2011, I achieved the title of Lord and can gain access to the Seasonal Garden. That was just awesome! However, what sparked the new year most was the arrival of Ronza! Ronza is a travelling merchant bringing limited edition traps into the world of Mousehunt from time to time. This time, I was totally prepared for her arrival. Stocking up nine million Gold, I easily bought all of her traps and bases at one go, and fortunately, I only used up 50% of my Gold. Moreover, Ronza brought her long lost friend Mustachio. He is a retired trapsmith who has researched on charms and when he came to the word of Mousehunt, he began selling charms in the mountains. The best of his charms is the ultimate charm, whereby 20 luck will be added into your trap, making it luckier by default. There are also power charms, attraction charms and luck charms too. They add to the trap's power, attraction and luck respectively. I find that the introduction of the charms into the game has made the game more fun and exciting!

Oh, and I won't be placing my hunter's journal onto the blog anymore. It's a little space consuming :)

Well, I have to go for now, don't worry, as more posts will be uploaded.
Bye!

Hero!

8:00 pm - Catacombs
I received the title of Hero!
